MSC in Europe vs. MSC in the USA: better, worse? We tell you everything!
We embarked for a mini-cruise on the MSC Seascape, departing from Miami.
Usually, we travel with MSC in Europe, but this time, we absolutely wanted to discover Ocean Cay, the company's private island. And for that, there is only one option: sailing with MSC in the United States.

⚓ Here, no detailed ports of call: we are going to focus only on the ship and its services (shows, dining, atmosphere, bars, etc.).
🚢 Embarkation: fast and stress-free
Whether in Europe or in Miami, MSC embarkation is a real pleasure. Fluid organization, no endless waiting: within a few minutes, we were on board, ready to enjoy ourselves.
🎭 The shows: the American punch
This is where the difference is obvious:
In Europe, the shows are good, but in Miami... it is practically Broadway at sea.
Incredible artists, spectacular staging, impressive energy.
Every evening, we had the impression of attending a big professional production. A real plus of MSC cruises in the USA.
🍽️ The restaurant: a different experience
In Europe: often seated with other French passengers → easy conversations.
In Miami: table shared with three couples of different nationalities. Enriching, but sometimes complicated for chatting.
🍷 Regarding meals: menus are a bit repetitive, only a few dishes change each day. After a few evenings, a certain sense of déjà vu.
🎉 The "American-style" atmosphere
The cruise director: charismatic, funny, a showman → he electrified the room at every appearance.
The activities were also different:
In Europe → "dance with the officers" = slightly shy slow dances.
In the Caribbean → same activity revisited as friendly line dancing. Much more fun!
🧑✈️ The captain: a real star
On the MSC Seascape, the captain left a mark:

photos with the passengers... without an official photographer!
This simple but rare gesture made the experience authentic and human.
🍹 Bars and service: American efficiency
Fast and smiling service → our cocktails arrived without a wait.
In Europe, we have already experienced waiting a long time.
👉 Anecdote: an forgotten order... quickly corrected with apologies, express drinks and small peanuts offered. Professionalism was there.
💳 The small mishaps of the drinks package
Everything was not perfect:
drinks package not activated from the start → off to reception
bottles of water charged by mistake → reception
a few glasses of wine added by error → reception again
⚠️ Tip: monitor your expenses on board via the app or your cabin account. It avoids unpleasant surprises.
✅ Conclusion
The MSC Seascape departing from Miami reminded us of what we like about Carnival:
a festive, generous, dynamic atmosphere, shows worthy of Broadway, a team full of energy.
Despite some small clumsiness in terms of organization (especially regarding billing), we had a change-of-scenery and memorable experience.
👉 Verdict: MSC in the USA = a nice surprise!
